Workshop C: Transforming Managers and Leaders into Storytellers
Every organization has stories. Stories that can capture the culture, recognize employees and teams, and bring the company’s strategies and goals to life. The question is, how do you find them? One important source? Managers. They are close to the people closest to the work. They have stories! They have stories of success, teamwork, diversity, innovation, and dozens of other stories that can connect employees to the company’s broader goals. In this interactive workshop, you’ll learn:
- How to use managers and supervisors to surface the kind of stories that will recognize their employees and help strengthen the culture
- How to develop a “quid pro quo” relationship with managers, where you help them share important information with their team and they supply you with a steady stream of compelling stories.
- How to turn the “cascade down” model of communication (which has never really worked, if we’re being honest) into a “conversation” model, where two-way communication fuels the culture (and yields fantastic stories!)
