The progress of communication is vital for any business to become successful (especially post-pandemic). When breaking down specific topics to tackle and discuss further, the options can vary.

ALI Conferences ran a survey asking Government Communication Peers what specific topics they would be interested in receiving more training on.

The results are the following:

  • A whopping 55% of respondents said Reimagining Employee Engagement.
  • 27% of respondents said 3 Simple Strategies for Culture.
  • 18% of respondents said the Frontline Essential Workforce.

When it comes to reimaging employee engagement, what does that necessarily mean? William Horton, a Communications Manager with the City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management, had a few points to say. Horton stated:

“During the early stages of the pandemic when teleworking became the new normal, communication professionals had to quickly develop innovative methods and strategies to keep employees informed and engaged. With more than 100 million Americans now vaccinated, federal, state, and local governments are beginning to reopen, and non-essential employees are returning to the office. How do internal communications look post COVID-19?”

Developing new strategies and processes to transform employee engagement is vital. It begins with innovation and open-minded leaders to establish new beginnings for their workforce.

If you would like to hear the City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management’s plan to strengthen employee engagement and outreach, including strategies such as:

  • Ensure you understand how employees prefer to receive information
  • Fuse methods and tactics used prior to the pandemic with new processes
  • Adoption of technology
