Ted empowers people around the world at UBM by leading them to engage in their online employee community where they can speak up and be heard, connect with peers around the world to learn from each other, and develop collaborative, innovative ways to work more effectively. Business value outcomes include rapid development of new products, enhanced communication and organizational awareness, cross-pollination of ideas from different business units and geographies, and transformation of the company culture into an open and transparent learning organization.
Ted is also an active leader in the social business community, sharing his knowledge and experience widely through speaking at industry events, sharing socially online (e.g., in the Jive Community), as well as by mentoring other community managers. Some of his favorite topics are building internal communities, analytics and metrics, and gamification.
Ted co-founded the Community BackChannel to create a community of practice for people working with online communities to share freely with each other and stay connected throughout their careers. He’s a Jive Champion and frequent contributor in the Jive Community online, a member of The Community RoundTable and Social Business Council, and serves on the Bunchball Customer Advisory Board.
