With diverse experience in the areas of law, manufacturing, government and health care, those who know her can attest to her professionalism, resourcefulness and creativity. Marisa has also been known to be decisive, yet patient. After all, it took her seven years to attain her Master’s of Business Communication degree online…hey, it was dial up…give her a break! This experience, however, allowed her to continue to gain experience and apply academic learning to practical on-the-job skills.
Her undergraduate degree is from Hannibal LaGrange University in business, and, again, she was patient, as she worked full time, raised a family and attended school in evenings and weekends. Her “real” college experience came at a young age when she attended Northeast Missouri State University and received a legal associate’s degree. Currently, she is the customer relations manager for the Mis- souri Department of Transportation’s Northeast District, responsible for team coordination of statewide customer service…the only state agency in Missouri to have LIVE customer service representatives 24/7/365!
She also works closely with leadership to develop and implement communication strategies for public involvement and citizen engagement efforts on all transportation projects. (side note…she loves competitively running!)
