Laurie Dawkins, ABC, has more than 20 years experience in the communications industry and currently serves as the Director, Corporate Communications for Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), where she leads a team responsible for internal and external communication, employee engagement, strategic planning, web development, digital and social media and more. In 2012,
Laurie led strategic planning and execution on VCH’s first ever organization-wide employee engagement and communication campaign, aimed at getting 16,000-plus employees and physicians interested in and enthusiastic about their “True North goals” – essentially the strategic core of their business. The campaign earned five international, national and regional awards from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and the Health Care Public Relations Association (HCPRA) and set the foundation for future engagement. Laurie is an Accredited Business Communicator (ABC).
Her communications career has spanned public and private sector industries and she is an active volunteer with the International Association of Business Communicators.
