Janet Testerman

In February 2012, Janet joined the Corporate Communications team of Scripps Networks Interactive, the parent company of iconic brands HGTV, DIY Network, Food Network, Cooking Channel, Travel Channel and Great American Country. Her responsibilities focus on enterprise-wide internal communications and running point for numerous internal clients, including Human Resources on recruiting and internal learning and development programs.

Janet was instrumental in developing content and launching SNI’s new external website in 2012 and is currently working on Scripps’ new internal employee portal, Inside SNI, slated to roll out in Q1 2014. Over the past year and a half, she has headed up internal communications’ video production for various initiatives, including employee profiles, company culture and learning and development programs. She is also the liaison with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, chairing the 2013 Scripps Change the World United Way campaign which exceeded the company’s $500,000 goal for the first time and increased giving by more than $26,000 over the previous year. As part of the campaign, she also helped double volunteer participation to nearly 800 during the company’s annual Volunteer Day, resulting in $137,622.24 of value in communities around the world on this one day.

Janet lives in Knoxville with her husband, Joey, and 10- and 12-year-old stepdaughters, Georgie and Elie. In her down time she enjoys planning her next trip, cooking and entertaining for family and friends, kickboxing and undertaking home projects. And when she’s not catering to the needs of her Golden Retrievers, Reilly and Buddy, you may also find her enjoying Knoxville’s great arts and food culture as well as bringing her passion to many of the community’s great causes.
